PLAYER ELIGIBILITY

 

At the time of registration for a championship, a player must have an active GHIN number on file at a member golf club of the South Dakota Golf Association that offers the GHIN Service to all its members;  AND

At the time of registration for a championship, a player must have posted a minimum of five (5) 18-hole scores in the previous 12 months at the South Dakota golf club where their GHIN number is active.

 

PRE-SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP - Both players must be at least 40 years of age on the first day of the event.

MID-AM CHAMPIONSHIP - Both players must be at least 25 years of age on the first day of the event.  If this is your intended division, CLICK HERE to register.

 

SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP - Both players must be at least 55 years of age on the first day of the event.  If this is your intended division, CLICK HERE to register. 

 

52-team field (Mid-Am + Pre-Sr combine for a max 104 team field) will be selected as follows (if qualified applicant received by deadline): (A) Past SDGA Pre-Senior Two-Man champions since 2019; (B) Low 35 (and ties) teams by gross score from the previous years event  (C) Through an 18-hole four-ball stroke play qualifying round from the remaining pool of entrants held the day before the first competition round at the host course selected by the SDGA, beginning at 8 a.m. If 52 teams have not registered by the Early Entry Deadline (Aug 10), then all teams entered on that date are exempt from any qualifying round. If total number of entries does not exceed 100, no qualifying round will be conducted. Entire field will compete at gross and championship will be flighted based on team combined handicap index. Overall champion will be team with lowest 36-hole score regardless of flight.

Day 1 - Four-Ball @ Prairie Winds GC /  Day 2 - SDGA Chapman @ Cattail Crossing GC

 

SDGA CHAPMAN FORMAT

  • Both players hit a tee shot on each hole (Par 3’s, 4’s & 5’s). Partner's hit each other's ball for their second shot. For the third shot, a ball is selected by the team to be played for the remainder of the hole. If the second shot played by player A is chosen, player B will play the third shot. The team alternates shots until the ball is holed.
